John Fitzgerald, 68, of Fergus Falls died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, MN.
John Thomas Fitzgerald was born on May 2, 1946 in Fargo, ND the son of Eugene and Helen (Lenzen) Fitzgerald. He graduated from Shanley High School in 1964 and continued his education at North Dakota State University receiving a Bachelor of University Studies degree, then at Moorhead State University receiving a Bachelor of Accounting degree.
John and Susan Maxwell were married on June 1, 1973 in West Fargo. They lived in various locations and in 1989 they moved to Fergus Falls. He was employed in the finance office at Minnesota Motor Company in Fergus Falls for the past 17 years. John was an avid golfer and enjoyed following all sports.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; three children, Robert Fitzgerald of Topeka, Kansas, Kea Mwania and Michael (fiancée Alexandra) Fitzgerald all of St. Paul, Minnesota; one grandson, Jalen Navarrette; four siblings, Edward Fitzgerald, Helen-Jeanne Puvogel and Philip (Donna) Fitzgerald all of Fargo, North Dakota and Kathy (Herb) Camp of Athens, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Helen Fitzgerald.
John brought lots of joy to his family and friends.
Service: 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, with visitation one hour prior to services.
