John Lanzano, 82 of Fergus Falls died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at his home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
John James Lanzano was born on November 27, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York the son of Orlando and Antonetta (Albonese) Lanzano. He graduated from the Brooklyn High School and then enlisted into the U.S. Navy, serving four years from November 26, 1951 to November 18, 1955. After his discharge he attended Beauty School to be a hairdresser.
John and Clare were married in Long Island, New York on September 12, 1979. He owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Queens, New York. They lived in Long Island, and then moved to Littleton, Colorado before moving to Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Clare; two daughters, Dawn (Anthony) Damiani of Jackson, NJ and Clare (Troy) Johnson of Minot, ND; two sons, James Lanzano of Jackson, NJ and John (Phyllis) Lanzano of Brooklyn, NY; step-daughter, Carol Ann Chiafalo of Moorhead; two step-sons, Phillip (Ana) Chiafalo of Littleton, CO and Edward Chiafalo of Fergus Falls; several grandchildren; and by numerous relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Orlando and Antonetta Lanzano; one son, Dominic Lanzano and by one sister, Marion.
Memorial Service: 10:30 am, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service.

Interment: Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Minnesota
