Julian Oliver Wold was born January 4, 1926, to J. Edwin and Josephine (Berg) Wold at the Century Wold farm north of Underwood where he was raised with five siblings. He attended School District 112 and graduated from Underwood High School in 1944. Julian was inducted into the service of his country eight days after high school graduation. After two years of military duty he arrived back home and was employed by Anderson-Sandberg Oil, Co., which he later purchased. Julian later purchased property near Rothsay where he and Doug Nelson raised grain, sheep and quarter horses. Julian began his real estate career with Century 21 Vista where he enjoyed the staff and the opportunity of selling property. Julian spent many enjoyable times entertaining friends and family, teaching kids to water ski, and mowing grass at Pickerel Lake. His hobbies included deer hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and golfing.

His latest illness was a difficult way to end his life, but he accepted it with a steadfast faith in God.  Julian was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church , serving on the Board of Trustees and Board of Elders. He also served for 20 years on the board of Lutheran Brethren Nursing Homes and was a former member of the Fergus Falls Rotary Club.
