Karla Ann Pallansch, age 50, died peacefully in her sleep at Frontier Manor, in Richville, Minnesota, her group home for the last two years.
Karla was born on July 5, 1973, to Ruth (Pfannenstein) and Lloyd Pallansch. She grew up in Elbow Lake, Minnesota, graduating from West Central High School, achieving high scholastic and athletic success. She graduated from College of St. Benedict in 1995, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. During her years of employment, she worked in several hospitals, enjoying all aspects of nursing, especially the emergency department. In 1996, she married Scott Bierscheid and became a mother to Benjamin Joseph and Bethany Ann. They divorced and Karla was a single parent with shared custody.
In 2012, while living in Sartell, Minnesota, she was in a car/pedestrian accident in the early dark hours of morning after walking her beloved dog, Kopper. She sustained a severe traumatic brain injury, multiple broken bones, and was in a coma for several months.
In the last ten years, she has resided in group homes, completely disabled and with considerable memory loss.
Karla is survived by her parents, sister Kristin Pallansch-Lee, Michael and Mark (Kristi) Pallansch, her son Benjamin (Theresa) and daughter Bethany Bierscheid. Also surviving are her nephew Lance Lee, nieces Jackie Lee, Marie, Corrin and Gretchen Pallansch.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, many beloved aunts and uncles, and her beloved dog, Kopper.
A memorial service is planned for Spring 2024.
