Kathryn McGoven

Kathryn (Kathy) Elizabeth McGoven passed away on April 1, 2016 at the age of 92. Kathy was born in Fergus Falls MN on March 25, 1924 to Ernest and Clara (Teberg) Schiller. She was a resident at the Pioneer Senior Cottages in Fergus Falls for the past several years. She had previously lived in Grand Forks and Fargo, ND. While living in Grand Forks, she married Edward Kaiser and most of her later life was married to Ardell (Mac) McGoven. She and Mac moved to Fargo and operated the Bismarck Tavern for several years. They had a cottage on Lake Maud that she enjoyed for many years. Later they tried dairy farming and a restaurant & bar east of Ottertail Lake. Upon full retirement, they moved into Fergus Falls to take care of her mother during her final years.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and sisters and her husband Ardell. She is survived by her son Steve and spouse Pat Kaiser, her daughters Pat and spouse Rick Schumacker, Vickie and spouse Oddie Knight, Tammie Grant and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
