Kay L. E. Willprecht-Wahlin

Kay Laurel Elizabeth Willprecht-Wahlin (67) of Evansville, passed away on October, 18, 2022 at her home in Evansville, MN with her husband by her side.

Kay Laurel Elizabeth was born on February 13, 1955 to parents A.C. and Mary Hooker in Watauga, SD. She graduated from McIntosh, SD in 1974 and then moved to Aberdeen for college. It was while she was in Aberdeen that she began to build her family. She moved to MN in the late 80’s and met Joe Wahlin in the late 90’s. Kay and Joe were united in marriage October 9, 1999. They made their home together in Melby, MN and started their business “Melby Flyway” which she worked at until her retirement in 2019.

Kay loved spending time in Alaska. She and Joe would go back and forth between Alaska and Minnesota starting in 2011. She also liked playing cards and being outdoors. Most importantly, Kay loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents A.C. and Mary Hooker; brothers Mike and Jack Hooker; one grandson, and her mother and father in-law.

She is survived by her husband Joe Wahlin; children Tonya Willprecht, Tessa (Clifton) Walking Elk, Darrel (Jennifer) Willprecht, Darnel Willprecht, Tosha Gullett, Trina Markland, Daniel (Erika) Willprecht, Amy (Daniel) Graham, and Andrew Wahlin; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Jane, Cheryl, and Barb; brothers Tom and Wade; and numerous nieces, nephews, and honorary family.

Funeral to be held Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:00 PM with a visitation beginning at 12:00 noon at Christina Lake Church in Evansville, MN.

Interment following the service at Christina Lake Cemetery.
