Keith Behrens, 60, of Evansville died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at his home.

Keith Edward Behrens was born July 28, 1951 in Alexandria to Orvall John and Jean (Steichen) Behrens. He was baptized at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Brandon and confirmed at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville. Keith graduated from Evansville High School. From 1969 to 1975 he served with the Army National Guard.

Keith married Donna Swendsrud in March of 1971 and they had three daughters, Jackie, Jennifer and Jessica. On August 17, 1996, he was married to Maja Rosli at the Smedsrud Farm, rural Battle Lake by Reverend Carl Ulrich. They had one daughter, Shyanna.

Keith lived in rural Evansville and had worked for the Canadian Pacific Railroad as a welder since 1991. Prior to that he managed the grain elevator in Dalton. He enjoyed farming, tinkering in his shop and watching wildlife. Keith was a very devoted husband, father and son, who loved his girls, and visited with his mother and father regularly. He was a member of Christina Lake Lutheran Church and the Ashby American Legion .

He is survived by his wife, Maja of Evansville; children, Shyanna Behrens, at home, Jackie (Steve) Schmidt of Oak Grove, Minn, Jennifer (Ronny) Young of Dalton, Jessica (Justin) Haller of Somerset, Wisc and; his mother, Jean Behrens of Osakis; nine grandchildren; sisters, Barb Behrens of Minnetonka, Minn, Bonnie (Bill) Vaughan and Bev (Gery) Arndt both of Little Falls, Minn; three brothers, Gary (Sharon) Behrens, Glenn (Linda) Behrens and Kenny Behrens all of Evansville. He was preceded in death by his father, Orval Behrens.

Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Christina Lake Lutheran Church, rural Evansville and will resume one hour prior to the service

Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Christina Lake Lutheran Church, Evansville

Burial: Church Cemetery with military rites by Ashby American Legion Post 357
