Keith Ladon Rasmussen, 77, of Rothsay, MN died on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
Keith was born on March 18, 1938, in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Everett and Mabel (Carlsrud) Rasmussen. He was baptized and confirmed in Rothsay, MN. After High School he worked driving School bus in Barnesville for a short time before helping his father farm. Keith entered the Army National Guard for a short period of time before being discharged. Keith then continued to farm for his uncle and area neighbors before starting his new career path of working as a mechanic. He was in the sign business for over 40 years creating many beautiful signs you still see today in Las Vegas, California, Texas, Colorado, Canada, Florida, Washington and Oregon.
On October 15, 2007, he married Brenda Jo Ballard in Casa Grande, Arizona. Keith volunteered his time to fight the large flood in Fargo which showed his caring and generous side.
Keith's hobbies included racing snowmobiles and riding motorcycles in his younger days, driving jeeps in the mountains, camping and going south to Arizona for the winters. Keith always enjoyed telling a good story and joking with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Denny.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Rothsay, MN; his eight children, Kim (Glen) Elder of Las Vegas, NV, JR (Laura) Rasmussen of Dalton, MN, Kathy (Lee) Evavold of Battle Lake, MN, Karen Rasmussen, Kelly(Kathy)Rasmussen , Kirk (Bella) Rasmussen and Kevin (Tina) Rasmussen all of Las Vegas, NV and Loni Copeland of Daytona Beach, Florida; Brenda's three girls, Wendy Stoll of Pelican Rapids, MN, Stacy Scheer of Henderson, NV and Nichole Scheer of Fargo, ND; a sister, Cissy (Louie) Alexander of Sun City, AZ; 26 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a uncle, Floyd Carlsrud of Needles, CA.
Family will be holding a private memorial service in memory of Keith Rasmussen at a later date.
