Kenneth Nelson

Kenneth Darwin Nelson, 72, of Clitherall, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at Pioneer Care Center in Fergus Falls under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
He was born November 26, 1943 to parents Norfield and Lorraine (Sandahl) Nelson. He was baptized and confirmed at Leaf Mountain Lutheran Church. He graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1962. On September 25, 1971, he married Vickie Benson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Henning. After high school, Ken worked at Thomas Oil in Vining and Finke Ford in Glenwood doing mechanic work. He then became a machinist and worked at Pako Corporation in Golden Valley for 18 years and then worked at Tennant Company in Maple Grove for 20 years.
Ken loved the outdoors, he enjoyed watching and looking for wildlife and watching things he had planted grow. He enjoyed fishing with his family and was an avid hunter. He looked forward to the fall hunting seasons when he could hunt with his son, Mark and his brothers and nephews.
Ken is survived by his wife, Vickie, his son, Mark of Clitherall and daughter, Michele of Maple Grove; two brothers: Ronald (Kathy) of Clitherall and Richard (Margaret) of Battle Lake; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Terry Benson and Beverly Becker and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norfield and Lorraine Nelson and grandparents, Melvin and Helga Nelson and Gunder and Marie Sandahl.
