LaVerne Anderson

LaVerne Anderson, 97, of Fergus Falls, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Broen Home, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

LaVerne Elizabeth was born April 21, 1919 to Henry and Mary (Murray) Brietenbauch in Maine Township, Fergus Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Catholic Church, Maine. LaVerne graduated from Underwood High School.

She married DuWayne O. Anderson at St. James Catholic Church, Maine, on May 20, 1948. She was a homemaker, raising her two children, Montford and Elizabeth.

LaVerne was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going for walks, gardening, reading and baking, especially bread. She always had a dog by her side, especially her beloved Muffy.

Survivors include her children, Montford (Kathy) Anderson of Aurora, CO and Elizabeth (Bill) Ehlert of Underwood; three grandchildren, Shaun (Sarah), Bill (Jessica) and Annie; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Jack; sisters-in-law, Valdine Haugen of Clitherall and Donna Anderson of Ottertail; numerous relatives and friends.

LaVerne is preceded in death by her parents, husband DuWayne; two sisters, Ellen Huson and Patricia McArthur; and twin infant brother, Lawrence.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 18 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church
