LaVerne Peasley, 80, of Fargo, formerly of Erhard, MN, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Sanford Health in Fargo.
She was born on May 23, 1930 to John and Amanda (Wickland) Boese in Fergus Falls, MN. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School. Afterwards, she moved to Ohio, just to experience something different. However, missing home, she returned to Fergus Falls and worked as a bookkeeper for Beall and McGowen. She met David Peasley on a blind double date and the two were married on February 11, 1954. They briefly lived in Fergus Falls and then made their home in Erhard, MN. They had a daughter, Marie, in 1962.
LaVerne loved gardening and working outside. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing and made many quilts and little stuffed animals. She was a very strong, intelligent, and creative woman.
In 1994, she moved to Fargo to be closer to her family. She found many ways of helping them, and was always there when they needed her. In 2006, she moved to Rosewood on Broadway and enjoyed playing bingo, collecting stuffed animals, and clipping pictures out of newspapers and magazines for scrapbooking.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie and son-in-law, David and her granddaughter, Amanda. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David, and two brothers, Alvin and Marvin.
Service: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 12 at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
