LaVerne Wilson, 97, a resident of the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center, passed away on March 16, 2014.
LaVerne was born July 16, 1916, in Wendell, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Hilda (Franze) Larson. She married Arthur Wilson on February 20, 1937. They lived on the Wilson family farm southwest of Battle Lake. Arthur died on March 3, 1974, after which LaVerne moved to Battle Lake. She moved into the Good Samaritan Center in August of 2002, where she lived until her death.
LaVerne is survived by her six children: Donald (Corinne) Wilson of Battle Lake, Lois Magnuson of Mesa, Arizona, Loraine Rehm of Waco, Texas, Alice (Randy) Tamberg of Danville, California, Arlene (Neil) Brenno of St Cloud and Ann (Reed) Rasmussen of Aberdeen, South Dakota. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, three step grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Harriet Erickson, Milton Larson, Donald Larson and Ruth Myers, and two sons-in-law, James Rehm and Alvin Magnuson.
Funeral Services: 2 pm, Friday, March 21, 2014, First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake - and one hour prior to the service at the church
