Leonard Allen Kiser, 87, of Fergus Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Barrett Care Center in Barrett, Minnesota. His memorial service is set for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church in Maine, Minnesota. There will be a visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at St. James Catholic Cemetery after the service.
Leonard was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, on October 3, 1937, to Robert and Florence (Rogers) Kiser. He attended country school and lived on the family dairy farm in Maplewood State Park. Leonard was enlisted in the United States Army.
On December 7, 1958, Leonard was married to Ruby Herness in the Maine Presbyterian Church in rural Underwood, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they lived south of Fergus Falls for five years, then they moved into Fergus Falls, and purchased Ruby’s childhood home.
Leonard was skilled at diesel mechanics and welding. He was employed by Anderson Brothers (All Builders) for 30 years along with working on his dairy farm.
Leonard is survived by his sons, Kevin (Linda) Kiser and Kent Kiser; two grandchildren, Amanda and Derek Helmer; one great-grandson, Justin Kugler; brother, Norman (JoAnn) Kiser; sisters, Velna Koltes, Darlene Kiser, and Norma Kiser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Florence; wife, Ruby; brother, Nickie Kiser; brothers-in-law, Bud Koltes and Dave Larson.
