Linda Kay Larson, 59, a resident of Fergus Falls, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born March 9, 1954 in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Doris (Wold) and Willis Schoening. She grew up on the family farm in rural Fergus Falls attending and graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1972. She was baptized, confirmed, and was married at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She spent many years caring for patients in various healthcare settings and later started her own business (Midwest Home Health) to round out a lifetime of caregiving. She loved caring for anyone in need.
On August 17, 1974 she married Dan Larson at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Fargo, ND after getting married, then to rural Dalton, MN until she and Dan opened their home health care business in 2003 with a move to Fergus Falls.
Linda will be remembered for her caring spirit, selflessness, positive attitude and honesty. She loved traveling, campfires in the backyard with her grandchildren and her Saturday morning sales adventures with the gals.
Linda was a member of Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death was her father, Willis Schoening, father-in-law Lawrence Larson, father-in-law Morris Larson and mother-in-law Gladys (Andrus) Larson.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel, her daughter Kim (Joe) Borgos, son Erick (Tawny) Larson all of Fergus Falls; son Chris (Emilie) Larson of Maple Grove; mother, Doris Schoening; a sister, Sandy (Richard) Tripp all of Fergus Falls, eight grandchildren, Emma, Kylei, Lillian, Madelyn, Aubrey, Ari, Jackson and Sophia; brother-in-law John (Janice) Larson of Fargo, ND; sister-in-law Rosemary Erickson of Saratoga, WY; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.
Visitation: 3 – 5 PM Sunday, with a 4:30 PM Prayer Service, in Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls. Visitation resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral Service: 11 AM Monday, August 5, 2013, at Zion-Sarpsborg Free Lutheran Church, Dalton
