Linda Philippi

Linda (Sherer) Philippi, age 69, Clitherall, MN passed away suddenly at her home on July 12, 2018.  Linda was born in St Cloud, MN to James and Loretta Sherer on April 25, 1949. Linda grew up in Sartell, Minnesota.  She graduated from Tech High School in St Cloud in 1967.  Later in life, Linda received her Associate of Science degree from North Dakota State College of Science in Mechanical Drafting.

Family was a big part of Linda’s childhood.  Aunts, uncles, and many cousins were always around for holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings.  Someone was always popping in at the Sherer house for coffee and a visit.  Of course, her sisters were around to help plan the next adventure, whether it was a game of “Hide and Seek” in the cemetery or sneaking another kitten into the house so Loretta wouldn’t find out.

From an early age, Linda displayed a keen interest and talent for building and design, a trait she inherited from her father.  In November of 1967, Linda married her best friend, Earl Philippi.  Linda and Earl were truly the love of each other's lives.  In over fifty years of marriage, they were rarely seen apart.  Linda often fondly remembered she never spent a night apart from Earl after they were married.

Earl shared Linda's passion for building.  Through the years, Linda and Earl built or remodeled many homes, cabins and apartments.  There was nothing these two wouldn’t tackle. Together, they raised three children - Carrie, Joel and Randy - with kindness and love.  Linda's passions in life were her children, grandchildren, flea marketing, and garage sales. She had great compassion for those in need.  Linda had a fondness for animals, raising twenty-two dogs, several flocks of chickens, many kitties, ferrets and even a few horses.

Linda is survived by her husband Earl; daughter Carrie (Chris) Edison, Bismarck, ND, and their children, Grant and Shelby; son Joel (Lori) Portland, OR; son Randy, Fargo, ND, and his daughters, Ariel, Sydnie, and Jazmyn; sisters Barbara Sherer, Rapid City, SD, Pam (Tom) Schneider, Brainerd, MN; Jami (Vern) Capelle, Little Falls, MN; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grandnephews, and her fur baby Spencer.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents James and Loretta Sherer, her paternal grandparents James and Carrie Sherer, and maternal grandparents Henry and Rose Poepping.

Please join us for a celebration of life on July 28th, 2018 from 1-4PM at Pinecone Regional Park, 1109 1st Street South, Sartell, MN (by Bernicks Arena).  Lunch will be provided.
