Luann Norman, 52, of rural Underwood, died Friday, October 23, 2015, at Lake Region Hospital.
Luanna Marie Norman was born on October 3, 1963 in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Merlin and Darlene (Peasley) Bengtson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1981. She continued her education at Fergus Falls Community College for one year. Later, she attended Alexandria Technical College and Rasmussen College in Moorhead, receiving her bachelor's degree in human resources. Luann was currently pursuing her master's degree.
Luann and Rick Norman were married on February 19, 2005. They lived on their farm east of Underwood, where she loved being a farm girl and enjoyed her farm animals. She was employed with Lutheran Social Services in Fergus Falls for the past 34 years, and she continued to work there as a designated coordinator. She strongly enjoyed her work and was very dedicated.
Luann loved summers and enjoyed escaping to Florida for winter vacations. She enjoyed photography, relaxing, sitting in the sun, family, and especially her grandkids. Earlier in life, Luann was married to Dean Miller for 18 years. Luann enjoyed family events and had a zest for life.
She is survived by her husband Rick; children and grandchildren, Dereck (Tiffany) Miller, Jackson and Christian of Underwood; Dylan (Kayla Beck) Miller of Underwood, Dacia (Devin Young) Miller of Underwood, and Jamie Norman of Battle Lake; parents, Merlin and Darlene Bengtson of Edwards; siblings, Corrine (Randy) Seiple of Erhard, Wesley (Jean) Bengtson of Erhard, Connie (Scott) Ruis of Milaca, Myrna (Todd) Budke of Underwood, Darla (Maurice Humpke) Bengtson of Baxter, Marlin Bengtson of Underwood, Tami (Ricky) Hendershot of Underwood; mother-in-law, Clarice Norman of Fergus Falls, two sisters-in-law, Renee (Wendell Crawford) Terhaar of Custer, SD, and Rita (Eric) Finseth of Underwood; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation: 4 – 7 PM Thursday, with a 7 PM Prayer Service, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorial Service: 1 PM Friday, October 30, 2015 at Sverdrup Lutheran Church, Underwood
