Lyle Paulson, 79, of Fergus Falls died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the MN Veteran's Home in Fergus Falls.
He was born June 26, 1932 in Peterson, MN to Clarence and Lela (Gorder) Paulson. At a young age, he moved with his family to Fergus Falls. After Lyle's father passed away, he and his mother moved back to Peterson where Lyle graduated from high school. In June of 1954, Lyle entered the U.S. Army and served until March of 1956 when he was honorably discharged. On September 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Elaine Evenson by Elaine's father, Rev. E.A. Evenson in Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Bloomington. Lyle worked for Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis. While living in Bloomington, their three children were born. In March of 1963, they moved to Coon Rapids. In 1975, they moved to Detroit Lakes and remained there until 1986 when they moved to West McDonald Lake near Dent. In the early 1990's Lyle retired and he and Elaine spent their winters in Mesa, AZ. Lyle enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing rolle bolle, curling and snomobiling. Elaine passed away on September 13, 2010. In May of 2011, Lyle became a resident of the MN Veteran's Home in Fergus Falls.
He is survived by his children: Linda Paulson of Coon Rapids, Mark (Venus) Paulson of Hawaii and Gary Paulson of Minneapolis; a brother: Clarence Paulson of Fergus Falls; a sister: Olive Boese of Elk River; a brother-in-law: Bruce (Barb) Evenson of Spokane, WA; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Elaine; two sisters: Lois Paulson and Joyce Marilyn in infancy; a brother-in-law: Erwin Boese and a sister-in-law: Arlene Paulson.
Memorials are preferred to the MN Veteran's Home in Fergus Falls.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service
Service: Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
