Mabel Lyson, 98 of Battle Lake died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.
Mabel Lucille Lyson was born on October 19, 1912 in Slayton, Minnesota the daughter of Peder and Amy (Erickson) Bosen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Mable graduated from the Battle Lake High School in 1930. After her graduation she worked in Minneapolis.
Mabel and Clifford Bjork were married on July 20, 1934 in Battle Lake, Minnesota. They lived in Battle Lake where Mabel did housekeeping for many different homes. She had also worked for the Deutsch Poultry Farm. Mabel had been a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church then First Lutheran Church of Battle Lake. She enjoyed sewing. Mabel made Barbie Doll clothes, had braided many rugs and she loved her flowers. In high school she played on the Girls Basketball Team.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Gunderson of Fergus Falls; one son, Tony (Sharon) Bjork of Battle Lake; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sherri) Gunderson of Carlos, Kim (Cody) Speaker of Timnath, CO., Julie (Brian) Greene of Underwood and Tanya (Scott Tyre) Bjork of Madison, WI; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Polly Kube of Elbow Lake; one brother, Paul (Lucille) Bosen of Henning; and by numerous relatives and friends. Mabel was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Enfield and Stella Knutson; four brothers, Harold, Lawrence, Fritz and William Bosen.
Memorial Service: 11 am, Thursday June 2, 2011 at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service
