Marcella Rueckert

Marcella Rueckert, 92, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Atwater and Grove City, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
Marcella “Sally” Rueckert was born April 2, 1925 to Adelia Christoffer in Mannanah Township of Eden Valley, Minnesota. She was baptized May 3, 1925, and confirmed later at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eden Valley. Marcella attended rural grade school and graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1943.
Marcella married Rolland Rueckert on July 10, 1943 in the parsonage of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. They farmed in the Grove City and Atwater area for 35 years. In 1977, they moved to Atwater and later to Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 2006. Rolland passed away on June 22, 2008 at Broen Home in Fergus Falls.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and later Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. She was active in Ladies Aid during these years and served as secretary and treasurer of these groups. Marcella also taught Sunday school classes. She was employed as a housekeeper at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield starting in 1978 and retiring in 1996. Marcella attended Hope Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
Marcella is survived by her children, Norvin (Marjorie) Rueckert of Fergus Falls, Alvin (Barbara) Rueckert of Litchfield, and John (Phyllis) Rueckert of Sioux Falls, SD; five granddaughters and fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Norland of Duluth, Sharlene Quello of Atwater, and Shirley Bridges of Tucson, AZ; sisters-in-law, Arlene Rueckert of Litchfield and Donna Rueckert of Grove City; and brother-in-law, Gerald Rueckert of Grove City.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her mother; a sister, Betty LaBelle; and brother, Gary Larson.
Visitation: 5 - 7 PM Monday, August 7, 2017, with a 7 PM Prayer Service, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, Minnesota, resuming one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral Service: 11 AM Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, Minnesota
