Marie Lindemyer, age 88, of Evansville, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Evansville Care Campus.
Marie Shirley Lindemyer was born December 18, 1922 to Herbert and Clara (Burros) Christensen in rural Evansville. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Evansville. She attended School District #26 and graduated from Evansville High School.
Marie married Carl Lindemyer in 1948. They lived in Evansville after their marriage. They moved to the farm for 5 years before moving back to Evansville. Marie worked for the Evansville Telephone Company and Clarence Elmer Produce. Carl died August 22, 1963.
In 1969 Marie started working for the Evansville Post Office, retiring after 25 years of service.
She especially loved and enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included making rugs on the loom, walking, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and visiting. Marie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and active in the women's groups.
Marie is survived by her daughters; Rose (Kevin) Olson, Priest River Idaho; Carol (Don) Week of Evansville, Mary Johnson of Evansville and Joyce (Jim) Rylander of Ashby; daughter-in-law, Donna Lindemyer of Ashby; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; brother, Clair (Ruth) Christensen, numerous relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl; her sons, Arvid and David, and brother James.
Funeral Services: Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, Evansville
Visitation: Thursday, May 5 from 5-8 PM at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Evansville and one hour prior to the service at the church
