Marlys L. Jackson, 74, of rural Clitherall, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.
She was born on September 21, 1936 in Canyon City, CO to Archibald and Lois (Lee) Waxon. At a young age she moved with her family to Hudson, WI where she attended school. On March 27, 1954, she was united in marriage to Milburn Jackson. The couple made their home in Dundas. Marlys was employed at Sheldahl, Inc. in Northfield. In 2003, after her retirement, Marlys and Milburn moved to Ottertail, MN.
Marlys enjoyed reading, knitting, fishing, puzzles, feeding and watching birds and spending time with her cats. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Milburn "Red" Jackson of rural Clitherall; three daughters: Sue McAllister (fiancé Claude Ferlen) of Northfield, Linda Gilligan (Robin) of Faribault and Cathie Spaulding of Faribault; four grandchildren: Holly Swedin (Bob), Dustin Gilligan (Eva), Whitney Bengen (Brian) and Andrew Tussing and six great-grandchildren: Bailey, Tegan, Casey, Rylee, Muriel and Sophia. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Allan Waxon, a great-grandchild, Devan and two son-in-laws, Tom Spaulding and Tom McAllister.
