Marvin Niesche

Marvin Niesche, 95, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, June 5, 2017, at Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Marvin Fred Niesche was born on February 23, 1922, the son of William and Freda (Nelk) Niesche. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church in Wheaton, Minnesota. Marvin attended Rural School Districts #58 and #37 in Monson Township, in Traverse County through the eighth grade and then stayed on the farm.

Marvin and Dorothy Totzke were married on June 23, 1948. They farmed and Marvin did a lot of custom work for neighbors, such as shelling corn, baling hay and straw, and also did custom feed grinding. They had 3, 200 laying hens a year and raised 6, 000 pullets twice a year for different hatcheries. Marvin and Dorothy left the farm in 1984, when they moved into Fergus Falls. He worked for the Trinity-Faith Cemetery for about fifteen years.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; five children, Brenda (Michael) Marko of East Bethel, MN, Mark (Mary) Niesche of Erlanger, KY, Michael (Jeanne) Niesche of Hutchinson, MN, Debra (Jean) Hoepfner of Beulah, ND and Dawn (Bryan) Hust of West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Henry, Herbert and Matthew Niesche, Michael and Robert Marko, Kristen, Kelly, Katie and Justin Niesche, Jennifer, Steve, Christopher and Theodore Hoepfner and Aaron Hust; 18 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Freda.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday June 9, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment: Trinity-Faith Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
