Mary Holo, 93 of Bothell, Washington, formerly of Dalton died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the Bothell Health Care Nursing Home.

Mary Tina Holo was born on August 21, 1923 at her parent’s home in Friberg Township, rural Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur L. and Margaret F. (Munger) Miller. She was baptized and confirmed in Tonseth Lutheran Church by Rev. M.S. Gjerde. Mary attended Rural School District #229 in Friberg Township and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1941. She continued her education at Moorhead State University, receiving her Teaching Certificate. Mary taught for twenty years in rural schools throughout Otter Tail County and when the rural schools closed, she became employed at the Battle Lake Public Schools spending 17 years with the Title One Program. Mary retired in 1992.

Mary and Roger Holo were married on June 21, 1949 in Tonseth Lutheran Church, rural Erhard, Minnesota by Rev. M.S. Gjerde. After their marriage, they lived three years on a farm by Stalker Lake, and then purchased their farm in Tordensjold Township. In 2000, they sold their farm and moved to Dalton where they enjoyed their community and visiting numerous threshing reunions throughout the area. In 2009, Mary moved to Bothell, Washington to live with her daughter. She spent the last two years at Bothell Health Care until her death on May 31. Mary enjoyed reading, listening to good music on public radio, and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of Tonseth Lutheran Church, Bethel Lutheran Church and Zion-Sarpsborg Lutheran Church, and was active with the Ladies Aid, worked with the Luther League, taught Sunday School in all three churches, and in later years baked cookies for the confirmation classes.

Mary is survived by daughter, Maureen Werts of Mukilteo, Washington, grandson, Nick Werts of West Seattle, Washington, brother, Robert Miller of Twin Falls, Idaho, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband Roger Holo, parents Arthur and Margaret Miller, and sister, Adeline Czarny.

A memorial service for Mary Holo will be held at Zion-Sarpsborg Church, Dalton Minnesota on Tuesday, August 1 at 11:00am with internment following.
