Matthew Hendrickson

Matthew Hendrickson, affectionately referred to as Matt, passed away on May 16th, 2023. He was born on March 25th, 1984. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on May 24th, 2023 at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The service is scheduled to commence at 2 pm, with visitation beginning at 1:30.

Matt's passing has left a great void in the lives of his friends and family. His wife, Alisha, and children Wyatt, Hailey, Riley, Dillynn, Maddison and Emery are deeply saddened by his loss.

Matt was born in Minnesota in 1984 but he relocated several times during his life eventually settling down in Bisbee, North Dakota before recently moving back to Minnesota with his mother Rhonda Jensen. Matthew graduated high school in 2003 and went on to pursue a career that saw him develop a passion for trucking; a job that he loved wholeheartedly. His career started at age twenty when he began working for his father and grandfather before eventually branching out on his own. He drove teams with his uncle Carl as well as working on the oil field and spending time farming with Jack.

In August of 2007 Matt married the love of his life Alisha after testing her limits over time. Through thick or thin they stuck together raising six beautiful children along the way. Matt's love for the outdoors knew no bounds: hunting for deer sheds was one of his favorite pastimes besides fishing with his kids or country cruising which were all highlights of life growing up around him. 

In spite of his many accomplishments, Matt suffered from Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) which was diagnosed in 2018. Although this condition created difficulties for him, it did not dampen his spirits or alter his positive attitude towards life. He always found a way to stay cheerful and optimistic no matter what challenges he faced.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tina Hendrickson; grandparents Gordon and Gerry Hendrickson and Eugene and Mary Lou Meyer; aunt Patty Hendrickson and uncle Mike Meyer. Matthew is survived by his father, Keith Hendrickson; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Matt will be remembered for his infectious energy, avid smile and lively personality. His caring nature and kind spirit endeared him to everyone he knew. The world has lost a true gem, but the memories of him will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
