Michael Behl

Michael Behl, 62 of Battle Lake died Thursday, February 25, 2021, at his home.

Michael Thomas Behl was born on October 9, 1958, in Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of John and Shirley (Bushee) Behl.  He was baptized in Grand Forks and confirmed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Gardena, California.  Michael graduated from Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, California in 1976.

He was employed with Behl’s Photography in Grand Forks, in the aircraft industry with Northrup Grumman and in the electric utility with Southern California Edison, both in California.  On 2007, he moved to Fergus Falls and in 2017, to Battle Lake.  Michael enjoyed motorcycle riding, snow skiing, music and dancing and was Mr. Entertainment, known for telling stories and jokes.  He enjoyed people and was known for his willingness to help others when needed.

He is survived by four siblings, Jack Behl from Garden Grove, CA, Julie (Jim) Herman of Riverside, CA, Jo Anne Potts and Susan Behl both of Fergus Falls, MN; and by numerous relatives and friends.  Michael was preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley Behl.

Memorial Mass: 2 pm, Saturday, March 6 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton

Visitation one-hour prior with 1:30 pm Rosary

Burial: St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge
