Mildred Solin, 80, of Fergus Falls, MN, died on Friday, June 26, 2015, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Mildred Lorraine Solin was born June 30, 1934 to Lewis and Mabel (Sveback) Lofthus in Girard Township, Ottertail County, Minnesota. She was baptized in Fergus Falls and confirmed in Vining Lutheran Church on August 28, 1949. She lived at home on the family farm by Vining where she helped with chores and gardening. Mildred attended school in Vining and Dalton.

She was united in marriage to Clarence William Solin on December 7, 1952 in Vergas, Minnesota. Mildred worked at the turkey plant in Frazee. In her younger years she enjoyed baking and embroidery. She also enjoyed shopping, going for walks, puzzles and gardening. Mildred enjoyed spending holidays with her family. She was excited that her son got married on her birthday. Mildred loved her only grandson Matt, whom she was very proud of.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Solin and grandson, Matt Solin, both of Fergus Falls; siblings, Clarice Johnson, Fergus Falls, Lillian Bednarz, Detroit Lakes, Gladys Larson, Dalton, Orval Lofthus, Detroit Lakes and Evelyn Rud, Fergus Falls, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence April 1, 1978, and son, James "Jim" November 21, 2014.

Funeral Services: 1 PM, Thursday July 2, 2015 at PioneerCare Chapel, Fergus Falls

Visitation: one hour prior to the service

Clergy: Pastor Harry Olson

Cemetery: Barnesville Cemetery, Barnesville, Minnesota
