Milt Aasness, 85, of Fergus Falls, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 of natural causes, while maintaining his beloved hunting land on the family farm.

Milton Merlin Aasness Jr. was born on December 24, 1931, near Doran, Minnesota on the family farm, the son of Milton and Mabel (Oksness) Aasness. He went to the Doran School through the eighth grade, and then attended Breckenridge High School. Milt joined the U.S. Army in 1954, serving two years at Ft. Benning in Georgia as a Tank Commander.

Milt was employed with Minnesota Motor Company for forty years and retired as a Parts Manager. He also grain farmed for many years evenings and weekends and served twenty-one years on the Fergus Falls Fire Department. Milt enjoyed playing on town and church baseball, softball and basketball teams, switching to golf in his later years. He was an outdoorsman and an avid hunter, enjoying hunting pheasants, grouse, deer and geese many times with his good friend, Bud Grant. Milt and Bev wintered twenty years in the McAllen, Texas area.
