Muriel Myrbo, 90, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, MN.
She was born November 28, 1922 in Fergus Falls to Ole and Bura (Bowen) Stenoien. She was baptized at Elim Lutheran Church in Osakis and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Muriel graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1939. She then attended the Minnesota School of Business and finished her schooling there through a correspondence course with a degree in bookkeeping. On April 30, 1944, she was united in marriage to Warren Myrbo at the Bethel Lutheran Parsonage in Fergus Falls by Pastor E. M. Strom. After their marriage the couple lived on the home farm in Tordenskjold Township. Muriel was employed by Mid-America Dairy in Fergus Falls for a total of 25 years. Warren passed away on January 24, 1971. Muriel moved to San Antonio, TX for 18 years before returning to Fergus Falls in 2003.
Muriel was a member of the "Red Hat" society and active in the Senior Center. She was a foster grandparent at the Adams School in Fergus Falls for a number of years. She enjoyed singing, needlework, crocheting, playing bingo with her daughter, playing cards and board games, gardening, and traveling. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very independent lady and a great example for her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Lewis of Fergus Falls; three sisters: Iola Nelson of Battle Lake, Camilla Stenoien of Manson, WA and Bonnie Peterson of Cherry Valley, CA; three brothers: Jerald (Mavis) Stenoien of Maple Plain, MN, Douglas (LaVola) Stenoien of Odebolt, IA and Noel (Jan) Stenoien of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: James (Ann) Lewis and Gunnar of Dalton, Marni (Adam) Harvey and Brandon and Zachary of Minneapolis, Travis Lewis and his daughter Kosa Bella of Fergus Falls, and a multitude of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Blaine in 1948, brother: Bennett Stenoien, an infant sister, Ramona, an infant brother Jackie, and her son-in-law, Everett Lewis.
