Nancy Lee Nelson, 66 of Clitherall died Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born on May 2, 1947 in West St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Hubert and Maxine (Strueber) Lambertz. She graduated from Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights, MN in 1965.
Nancy and Rodney Nelson were married on May 5, 1966. After their marriage they lived in Fergus Falls for a short time before moving to Inver Grove Heights. She was a homemaker and was employed as a waitress at the Glenview Grill. After retirement Nancy and Rod moved to Clitherall where Nancy volunteered at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center for many years, and was active member of the Good Samaritan Auxiliary. Nancy had many hobbies including embroidery, puzzles, and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney; daughter, Lisa Knipping of Eagan; son, James Nelson of Fergus Falls; two grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan Knipping; two sisters, Mary (Mike) Nitti of Clitherall and Pat (Jack) Vangstad of Osakis; and numerous relatives and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Maxine Lambertz.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the First Lutheran Church, 505 Holdt Street West, Battle Lake MN
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at church
