Norrine (Rene) Lee Mueller, 74, died Wednesday, September 30, of cancer. Service is Saturday, October 10 at 3:00 pm, Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Battle Lake. Refreshments served later at The Shoreline.
Rene was born in Minneapolis, the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Olson) Dingman. She graduated high school in 1959 in Waubun, MN.
After graduation Rene worked in the office of Fingerhut Manufacturing in Minneapolis. While living there she met John Mueller and they were married November 25, 1967. They made their home in Prior Lake where she worked for Scott-Rice Telephone Company for 19 years. When they retired they moved to Nevis, where they lived until John's death in 2009. Battle Lake became her new home where she lived until her death.
She had no children or grandchildren of her own, but loved to spend time with her two great-nephews and great-niece, Reed Vining, and Graham and Taylor Schumacher. She especially enjoyed playing with them, and generous auntie that she was, shopping for them at Christmastime, Halloween, and for school clothes and supplies. Rene also enjoyed reading, fishing, playing cards, cooking and entertaining, watching Vikings football and spending time with family. She and John were lifetime members of Ducks Unlimited, active in Prior Lake and Park Rapids. She volunteered at Good Samaritan in Battle Lake and enjoyed visiting casinos with her friends.
She is survived by sisters Sharon Leber of Kent, WA; Diane (Steven) Millard of Fergus Falls; Sandy Stickney of Grand Junction, CO; Melissa (Kenny) Leinen of Battle Lake and Candace Heathington of Underwood, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Mueller; mother Hazel Weiss, formerly of Battle Lake; father Earl Dingman; sister Marlys Slough; and brother Arden Robert Dingman.
