Paul Allen Engelstad, 41, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015.
Paul was born on March 15, 1974 in Fergus Falls, MN, the son of Jon and Lori (Ferber) Engelstad. He attended school in Fergus Falls and Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High in 1992. He later graduated from Brown Institute, majoring in radio broadcasting
In 1998 he married Nicole Sater. They had a daughter, Megan.
In 2002 he married Shellie Morgan. They had three children, Samantha, William and Emma.
Paul lived and worked in California as a vice-president of a car wash company. He later moved back to Moorhead and was self-employed as a contractor.
Paul had an uncanny knack at learning new things very quickly. He earned his private pilots' license as a sophomore in High School. He also excelled as an artist, and could fix almost anything. His quick wit, dry sense of humor, and keen intelligence enabled him to instantly relate equally well to strangers and family and friends.
Paul was known to read The Bible intensely, and had a strong bond with Christ. He loved to spend time with family and friends, travel, build model airplanes, and loved to tell jokes and stories
Survivors include his parents, Jon and Lori Engelstad of Moorhead; children, Megan of Moorhead, Samantha, William and Emma of Spring, TX; sisters, Kristin (Ryan) Boyle of Rogers, MN and their children, Ashley (son Sean and fiancé Aaron), Heather, Nicholas, and Kelsey; Becca (Gary) Sundby and their daughter Kendall of Fergus Falls; brothers, Seth (Devi) of Mooreton, ND and his children, Isaac and Abigail; Matthew (Jamie) of Fargo and their children, Olyvia, Aaden, Taylor and Brynlee; grandma, Marcia Ferber of Fergus Falls; grandpa, Bob Engelstad of Crystal Lake, Pelican Rapids, MN; aunts, Linnae Leary (fiancé Kirby Anderson) and Lisa (Kevin) Schultz-Fred, both of Fergus Falls, Lynn (Reed) Johnson of Glyndon, Susan (Rick) Roessler of Crystal Lake, Pelican Rapids, and Julie (Jim) Nye of Lakeville, MN; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Kelly Ferber; his grandma, Lu Engelstad, and his uncle, Pat Schultz.
Visitation: 5 – 7 PM Friday, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral Service: 2 PM Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the Church of the Nazarene, Fergus Falls
