Richadeene Martinson

Richadeene G. Martinson, age 83, resident of Pioneer Pointe in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, passed away on March 19, 2023. 

She was born to Richard and Berneille Gast and grew up in Wahpeton, North Dakota. In 1959 she married Donald Martinson. They started a family and moved frequently with Don’s career. In 1967, they relocated to southern Indiana, where they ultimately settled in Boonville.

Richadeene was a gardener, reader, exquisite seamstress, and terrific cook -- she won the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Award her senior year in high school. She was active in her church, baking dozens of cookies and bars for Vacation Bible School every summer, and worked for 27 years as a rural postal carrier with the United States Postal Service. She retired in 1999 and enjoyed travel and time with her family and friends.

Richadeene is survived by her husband, Donald; her children and grandchildren Jennifer West (the late Paul) and sons Erick, Colin and Parker; Cindy Tennyson (Eric) and children Andrew, Katherine and Kirsten; Scott (Veloria) and sons Scott and Trey; sister, Nancy Tollerson (Lowell), and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie, and sister Karen.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Free Lutheran Church,1416 County Highway 111, Fergus Falls, MN. Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. prior to the service.
