Robert “Andy” Anderson, 96 of Ashby died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Ashby Living Center.

Robert Eugene Anderson was born on September 28, 1927, in Ashby, Minnesota the son of Earl and Nellie (Schultz) Anderson. He was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Andy attended Ashby Public School graduating from Ashby High School in 1945.
Andy and Elaine Ann Olson were married on October 12, 1950, in her parent’s home in Ashby, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Ashby.
Andy worked for his dad with the bus company, then the trucking company, and later bought out the bus company along with Anderson Trucking. In 1963, he started with Fosse Trucking of Rothsay where he drove semi until he was eighty years old, retiring with forty-five years of service in 2008. The Andersons were a baseball family, with Andy playing many years with the Ashby teams. He enjoyed duck hunting and also shot a pheasant or two. He liked the family Sunday drives which Andy and Elaine continued into retirement, along with enjoying their many family gatherings.
He is survived by four daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Blondeau, Gwyn (Jim) Risbrudt, Beatrice (Junior) Matson and Ramona Slack; sixteen grandchildren; fifty plus great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Olson; and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his son and his wife, Dennis and Marcia Anderson; son-in-law, Thomas Slack; grandson, Darin Slack; sister Betty (Edwin) Nelson; two brothers-in-law, Virgil (Lorraine) and Merl Olson; and sister-in-law, Verla (Bob) Forbes.
Memorial Service: 2 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church in Ashby.
Visitation: Friday 5-7 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Ashby and one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Pelican Lake Cemetery in Ashby
