Robert Perina, Sr., 71, of Battle Lake, died February 19, 2015 at Essentia Health, Fargo, North Dakota.
Robert Charles Perina Sr. was born on September 23, 1943 in Staten Island, New York the son of John II and Marion (Belvin) Perina. He attended Public School 20 and then continued his education at the McKee Vocational High School both in Staten Island.
Bob worked various jobs in New York. In 1973 he moved to Minnesota where he was employed with Menards erecting buildings, hauled milk for Duane Farnum Trucking, worked in printing, drove over the road as a truck driver and then operated the Graystone Lodge on Otter Tail Lake. Bob then moved to Maple Lake where he did metal stamping and retired back to Battle Lake in 2004. He enjoyed gardening, cutting grass, loved to fish and mainly enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by one son, Robert Perina Jr.; one daughter, Edith Blanton of Boise, ID; four grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher Perina and Damien and Megan Blanton; two brothers, John (Beverly) Perina of Staten Island and Arthur (Noreen) Perina of Omaha, NE; one sister, Edith Swigert of Richville; and by numerous relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marion Perina; one sister, Joan Ryckman and by two brothers-in-law, Ray Ryckman and Louis Swigert.
