October 26, 1943 — August 8, 2024

Roberta Erickson, 80, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, passed away on August 8, 2024, at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

Roberta Ray Erickson was born on October 26, 1943, to Robert and Grace (Osborn) Erickson of Moorhead, Minnesota.  She attended school in Moorhead and would continue her post high school education at Moorhead State University, majoring in art education.  The Chicago area benefited from her artistic skills through her teaching vocation.  She was a talented artist with her favorite being charcoal drawings.

Roberta's interest in the nursing field inspired her to further her education, and then attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Fargo, North Dakota. (At that time the school was affiliated with St. Luke's Hospital, which is now known as Sanford Health.)  While continuing her education as a registered nurse, Roberta worked as a nurse's aide.  Upon completion of the nursing program, she moved to Fergus Falls, MN, where she worked at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center.  Her nursing peers would describe her as knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate.  She found working with the elderly to be her favorite.

She was a devoted mother to her daughter Synove.  Many family outings occurred with Itasca State Park being one of their favorite places to visit.  Roberta was also a devoted animal lover.  She had her beloved cocker spaniels, and later would rescue alley cats to become her special companions.

Roberta is survived by her daughter, Synove; granddaughter, Cyan; sister, KayDell Breyer; and special friend, Kevin Amundson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Grace Erickson.

Per Roberta's wishes, no funeral arrangements have been made.
