Roger Farden, 78, Auburn, WA passed away April 12, 2016 at Franciscan Hospice House, University Place, WA of natural causes surrounded by his family.
Roger Axel Farden was born July 30, 1937 in Eagle Lake Township, Battle Lake, MN, son of Selmer & Julia (Person) Farden. He grew up on the family farm south of Battle Lake and attended School District #34, graduating from Battle Lake High School in 1955.
On October 26, 1963 he married Mary Louise Holm at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake and they were blessed with one son Rodney.
Roger worked for GTA Elevator, Scribner's Feed Service and Bengston Oil. In 1969, Roger and his family moved to Auburn, WA. He worked for Hoyt Motor Company and retired as a custodian from Auburn School District in 2003.
Roger was kind and patient with a sense of humor. Roger enjoyed yard work, gardening, fixing lawn mowers and cars. Roger enjoyed his drives from Washington to Minnesota, farming with Jack & Grace Christensen and teasing the mother-in-law, Selma Holm. Roger was known to be the recipient of Skylar's pranks and jokes. Memories of Roger's jokes, sense of humor and pranks will be remembered.
Roger is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Louise, son Rod (Amy) Farden and granddaughter, Skylar Chambers; one sister Joan (Ruben) Cleven, sister-in-law, Linda (James) Berge, 1 nephew, 3 nieces and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother Vernon Farden, father & mother-in-law Marvin and Selma Holm, several cousins and close friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Time of remembering will be held April 23, 2016, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., breakfast at 10:00 a.m. at Auburn Senior Center 808 9th Street SE Auburn, WA.
Memorial Service: 11 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016, Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, visitation is one hour prior to the service
Sunrise Interment: 7:00 AM Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Eagle Lake Cemetery, Rural Battle Lake
