Roger Leroy "Bones" Wilson, age 57, of Elbow Lake, MN passed away Saturday July 22nd, 2017 surrounded by family after a year-long battle with cancer.
Roger was born on April 12, 1960 in Grand Marais, MN to Norma and Curtis Wilson. Roger resided most of his life in the Big Lake, MN area where he was a jack of many trades but primarily he was an iron scrapper and commercial painter. Roger was a kind and generous man who fiercely loved his family, friends and the Green Bay Packers. He was always there to lend a hand or the shirt off his back to those in need. His sense of humor and decades of stories from his many adventures will be greatly missed.
His legacy will live on through his nine children: Roger Jr. (Jessa) of Zimmerman, Nathan (Marnie) of Shakopee, Josh of Elbow Lake, Alyssa (Rob Mickelson) of Anoka, Justin (Elizabeth) of Elbow Lake, Ritausha (Brian) Nelson of Otter Tail, Joseph (Sueann) of Elbow Lake, Tiera (Scott) Moore of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Curtis of Elbow Lake; his girlfriend of five years Tanya Kostal and her three children Russell, Joshua and Nancy; his many grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews. Meeting him at the pearly gates with our heavenly Father are Roger's parents and Tanya's mother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hope Evangelical Free Church 513 West 4th Street, Monticello, MN 55362 at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 27 with cake and coffee to follow. Please direct memorials to the family of Roger Wilson.
