Rose Stich, 91 of rural Brandon passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Bethany Community in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Rose Theresa Stich was born on May 12, 1925, in Urbank, Minnesota the daughter of Hubert and Barbara G. (Kraemer) Koep. She was baptized and confirmed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and attended Rural School by Urbank.
Rose and Bernard "Ben" Stich were married on September 21, 1943, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. They farmed in Leaf Mountain Township and in 1958, they started a bait business selling wholesale and retail bait. Rose was a selfless loving Mom, friendly and anyone would be first before her, was very devoted to her family and devotional to saying the rosary and prayers daily. Rose wanted family unity, she enjoyed listening to her family, listening to them laugh, and when they were ok, she was ok. Later in life Rose and Ben enjoyed the flea markets, auctions, garage sales and wintering in Nashville. Ben passed away on October 18, 2013, they had celebrated seventy years of marriage, Rose continued to stay strong for her family and was blessed with a clear mind until her passing.
She is survived by five children, Ben Jr. (Josephine) Stich of Battle Lake, Bernadette "Detsie" Wagner of Brandon, Sharon (Ben "Blackie") Bitzan of Evansville, Doreen (Blaine) Larson of Battle Lake and Connie Lee (Kevin) Cunningham of Alexandria; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Fruth of Alexandria; and by many relatives and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Stich Sr.; son-in-law, Fran Wagner; parents, Hubert and Barbara Koep; two brothers, Bernard "Bernie" Koep and John Koep Sr.; and by one sister, Marie Post.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake.
Visitation: Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday.
