Sarah Tweeter

Sarah Tweeter, 86, of Evansville, died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Evansville Care Campus.

Sarah Ella Tweeter was born June 21, 1927 to William and Edna (Kranz) Toboll in Montevideo, Minnesota. She grew up on the farm in rural Montevideo. Sarah was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montevideo in 1941. She was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Tweeter in December 1945. The couple made their home in Alexandria. In 1950, they moved to Evansville. Sarah worked for several restaurants and cafes where she was renowned for her cooking and baking. Dick passed away on May 23, 2005.

Sarah was a past president of the Evansville Senior Citizens Club and was very active with them. She enjoyed baking, cooking, crossword puzzles, embroidery and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

She is survived by her children, Richard, Jr. (Betty) of Douglas, WY, James (Rhonda) of Richville, Leslie of Evansville Julie of New Orleans, LA and Jeffrey (Tammie Lunceford) of Evansville; five grandchildren, Shane, Michelle, Chris, Patrick and Rhiannon; one great-grandchild, Alexa and a half-brother, Ernest Toboll of Kansas City, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.



Funeral Services: 11 AM, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church, Evansville

Visitation: 5-7 PM, Monday with a prayer service at 6:30, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Evansville - and one hour prior to the service at the church
