Shirley Ryckman

Shirley Ryckman, 52 of rural Elbow Lake died Sunday, March 20, 2022, at her home with family at her side.

Shirley Ann Ryckman was born on October 18, 1969, in Elbow Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Dennis and Donna (Bolstad) Johnson.  She attended the Ashby Public School.

Shirley and Errol Ryckman were married on August 9, 1986, at rural Underwood, Minnesota.  After their marriage they lived at their home of rural Elbow Lake.  In 1995, they moved to Chicago, Illinois where they owned a flooring business.  In 2009, they purchased a truck and Errol team drove with his son Curtis, and Shirley managed the business and routes.  In 2011, they returned to their home in between Dalton and Elbow Lake.  Shirley enjoyed sewing, every year making new blankets for the kids.  She loved spending time with her favorite aunt Virginia, visiting and drinking coffee.  She enjoyed her family, she really loved spoiling the grandkids. Enjoyed barbeques and cooking the family Sunday dinners.

She is survived by her three sons, Kyle (Amy) Ryckman and Curtis (Brittney) Ryckman of Elbow Lake, and Tyler (Jenny) Ryckman of Wahpeton; five grandchildren, Riley and Georgia Ryckman, Jayda and Baylee Staring, and Ezimae Freeberg; brother, Wesley (Brenda Willhite) Johnson of Evansville; three sisters, Wanda Bergerud of Fergus Falls, Jennifer Johnson of Wahpeton and Amy (Nick) Anderson of Fergus Falls; and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Errol on October 3, 2016; parents, Dennis and Donna Johnson; brother, Jason Johnson; and brother-in-law, Brian Anderson.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Zion-Sarpsborg Free Lutheran Church in Dalton, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
