Steve Jorgenson

Steve Jorgenson, age 79 of Erhard, MN, passed away at Vibra Hospital, Fargo, ND, on April 14, 2025, after battling a brain bleed.

Steve was born on August 8, 1945, to Burton and Stella ( Nendick) Jorgenson in Pelican Rapids. Steve attended school at Pelican Rapids High School. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard, MN. and later became a member of Tonseth Lutheran Church, Erhard, MN., where he served as Financial Secretary and on the Church Council for many years.

On April 24, 1965, Steve married the love of his life Verna Mostue at Tonseth Lutheran Church. The couple lived a happy life together in Edwards, MN. for almost 60 years.

Steve was a member of the Uninviteds Car Club of Fergus Falls, MN. Collecting and restoring classic cars was a loved hobby, along with hunting and fishing in his younger years.

After High School, Steve began working at the Fergus Falls Rendering Plant. Later he started his life-long career as a heavy equipment operator. First, working for his cousin, Dean Jorgenson, owner of Dean’s Excavating of Fergus Falls. After several years, Steve along with his brother-in-law, Robert Pourrier started their own business, PJ Excavating. Their partnership lasted for over 29 year, when they sold the business and Steve semi-retired, staying in the excavating profession, working part-time for Rick Leitch then Nate Lukken as Office Manager up until his death. Steve was a highly respected and talented backhoe operator. His experience showed on every job.

Steve is survived by; His wife Verna, Sister; Debbie Jorgenson of Rangle,CO.; Brothers; Kurt (Paula) Anderson of Erhard, MN. and Terry ( Kim) Graham of Hugo, CO.; Sister-in-law, Violet (Robert) Pourrier of Erhard, MN.; Many beloved Nieces, Nephews and life-long friends. And finally his precious Miss Kitty Cat.

Steve was proceeded in death by his parents, Infant son; Brian Steve Jorgenson, Mother and Father-in-law; Phil and Dorothy Mostue, Sister and brother-in-law; Murriel and Ron Sibernagel, Sisters; Gwen Sharry and Dawn Hall, Brother; David Anderson, Sister-in-law; Lucy Schroeder, Niece; Lisa Sibernagel and Nephews; JD Beckman and Scott Pourrier. Long live the memory of Steve Jorgenson!

Services: Monday, April 21 at 2 PM at Tonseth Lutheran Church, Erhard with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment: Tonseth Lutheran Cemetery, 33672 CR 3, Erhard
