Steven Hansen

Steven G. Hansen, 64, of Moorhead died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Fargo.
He was born April 18, 1949 in Breckenridge, MN to George, Jr. and Adeline (Kowalski) Hansen. He grew up in rural Foxhome, MN and attended school in Foxhome and Breckenridge, graduating in 1967. Steve then attended North Dakota State School of Science for two years for auto body, graduating in 1969. He then worked in Wheaton, MN for one year in auto body before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1970. He was honorably discharged in 1974. He then went to work as a farmhand for Bob and Sue Peterson for eight years until his health failed. He resided in Moorhead for the last ten years. Steve entered the Veteran's Hospital in Fargo on April 4, 2013, and remained there until he passed away.
Steve enjoyed listening to music, going out to eat, reading, playing bingo and cards, fishing and going for walks.
He is survived by his mother, Adeline Hansen of Fergus Falls; two sisters: Barb (Jim) Carley and Ginny Peschel both of Fargo; nieces and nephews: Michelle (Todd) Averson, Jameson Peschel, Jeremy Peschel and Mike Peschel and great-nieces and nephews: Allison Peschel, Dilynne Peschel, Cayson Pinsonneault, Connor Averson and Gage Averson; five aunts: Hattie Holthusen of Fergus Falls, Delores Bjerkevedt of Detroit Lakes, Irene Stroschein of Underwood, MN, Judy Hensch of Campbell, MN and Marcella Kowalski of Fergus Falls; two uncles: Harold Hansen of Anchorage, AK and Elroy Hansen of Vining, MN and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father George Hansen, Jr., his grandparents, several aunts and uncles and three cousins.
