Terrence Olson

Terrence Edward Olson, 67, of Ashby, passed away on July 3, 2014 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND due to complications as a result of an accident. He was born on November 18, 1946 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He is the son of Edward V. (Bing) and Bernice J. (Evavold) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashby and graduated from the Ashby Public School in 1964.
Terry married Patricia Risbrudt on July 30, 1967 and together they had 3 wonderful children: Teresa Samone Langlie, Jayme Patrick Olson, and Kelly Edward Olson.
Terry previously held jobs with 3M, farmed for many years, and worked with H&R Construction. At the time of his death, he worked as a seasonal employee with the Ashby Equity and he helped his Dad and brother Tom on the farm.
Terry knew no strangers! His outgoing personality, his handsome smile, and cute dimples are how everyone remembers Terry. He was always willing to offer a hand when someone needed it. He had so many dear friends that he loved to spend time with around the area. He also had a keen sense of humor and liked to tease people he knew. He was an excellent athlete as a younger man playing basketball, baseball, track, and football in high school with a special accomplishment in football being named all-state as a quarterback. He also was a member of the Ashby A's town team baseball team for many years. In recent years he played in a men's golf league. Terry was an avid sports fan and attended many sporting events as well as watching them on TV. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his friends and family each year. Besides loving his own children, he had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren!!! He was always so proud of his kids' and grandkids' accomplishments.
Terry is survived by his 3 children and 10 grandchildren, Teresa (Troy) Langlie of Ashby and children Tyson (Sierra), and Tanner; Jayme (Randi) Olson of Alexandria and children Jaylen, Kelby, Kaeley, Torrey, and Treyton; Kelly (Andrea) Olson of Blaine; Jillian, Reese, and Lena Bernice; Father Edward V. (Bing) Olson; 3 sisters and 2 brothers; Patricia (Jack) Converse, Rodney (Sally) Olson, Brenda (Wayne) Risbrudt, Thomas (Samantha) Olson, and Constance Olson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice J. Olson.
Funeral Services: 11 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2014, Peace Lutheran Church, Ashby
Visitation: 4-7 PM, Monday, with 7 PM prayer service at Peace Lutheran Church - and one hour prior to the service
