Theresa "Terri" Ann Cole

Theresa Ann Cole (1/10/60- 6/15/24)

Terri, age 64 of Fergus Falls, MN, beloved mother to four daughters, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 15th, 2024, forever leaving a void in the hearts of the family and close friends who knew her best.

Terri was born in Camp LeJeune, NC to Barbara and Jerry Peardon and was the second of three daughters. Terri graduated from Woodbury High School and married her high school sweetheart, Mark Scheuble, in January of 1978. As an Air Force wife, they traveled the country before settling in Newport, MN with their daughters, Jamie and Jess. She then started her career at Waterous Company in St. Paul for more than a decade.

In November of 1988, Terri was married to Tim Cole and within that union, Jenna and Joey completed the family. In the winter of 1998, their family started a new adventure when they moved to Battle Lake, MN to run Barky's Resort on Ottertail Lake, where countless friendships were made over their tenure there. She also owned and ran B.L. Express where several of her employees became 'extra kids' to her, holding a special place in her heart. She then managed Dollar Tree in Fergus Falls, before ending her working days at the Fergus Falls Liquor Store where several of her co-workers became family, who she missed dearly when her illness forced an early retirement.

Terri was a fiercely devoted mother to Jamie, Jess, Jenna, and Joey, and she was so very proud to be their mom. Raising them all to be strong, courageous, and independent women. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, and she was happiest in times when all could be together, most especially near the water. Terri was also a companion and best friend to Gina Arvis. The partnership, laughter, and support shared between them was a gift she would treasure always.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Barbara Brusewitz (Jerry Peardon & George Apodaca) and son-in-law Seth Nelson. She is survived by Gina Arvis and family, Ele and Jess; daughters Jamie (Matthew) Wallace, Jess (Casey) Love, Jenna Lee, Joey Nelson (Jordan Sillerud); and grandchildren Allyson, Olivia, Leyla, Emmitt, Sawyer, Joshua, Dexter, Lauryn and Oliver; fathers to her daughters Mark Scheuble and Tim Cole; and sisters Toni McGuire and Gina Apodaca and their families. All of whom will never forget the limitless love, abundant laughter, endless sarcasm, and continuous support she brought into their lives.

Memorials can be made in her honor to the Lake Region Cancer Center or Hospice of the Red River Valley, where the doctors and volunteers took care of her and where nurses became dear friends.
