Walter Muller

November 11, 1919 — February 25, 2015

Walter Muller, 95 of Fergus Falls formerly of Breckenridge died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

Walter Herman Muller was born on November 11, 1919 in Vergas, Minnesota the son of Albert W. and Bertha (Mandelkow) Muller. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and attended the Foxhome Public School. Walter served with the US Army during World War II. After his discharge from the Army, Walter cowboyed by Steamboat Springs, CO and was a private pilot who loved to fly.

Walter and Phyllis Irhke were married in June of 1960. They had three sons, Ralph, Charles and Wayne. Walter was employed with Crystal Sugar in Crookston, had farmed and ranched in various locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Colorado. His last job was in Colorado where he was employed ten years as a concrete foreman. After his retirement he lived in his home by Lengby, Minnesota. In 2001, he moved into Apple Tree Apartments in Breckenridge until October of 2007, when he entered the Broen Home in Fergus Falls. Walter enjoyed baking and cooking.

He is survived by three sons, Ralph Muller of Berthoud, Colorado, Charles (Mardi) Muller of Rexburg, Idaho and Wayne Muller of St. Peter, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Rachele, Christopher, Alex, Dustin, Derek, Devan, Nate and Brittany; fourteen great-grandchildren; Madison, Jacob, Isaac, Eleven, Chev, Joey, Angelina, Taten, Zach, Keira, Gauge, Maci, Brailyn and Sawyer; and by numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, William, Ervin and Harvey and by four sisters, Molly, Ruth, Lydia and Katherine.

We would like to especially thank Roger and Les Muller for their special care for Walter; and also to Broen Home for the compassion and love Walter received while there.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Foxhome Lutheran Church in Foxhome

Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church

Clergy: Rev. John Andrews

Military Honors: Minnesota National Guard

Spring Interment: Mitchell Township Cemetery, Wolverton
