Wayne Edward Rubink

Wayne Edward Rubink, 53, of Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Fergus Falls, died on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Lakes Homes in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Wayne Edward was born on August 25, 1970, in Pelican Rapids, MN, the son of Herman Edward and Marianne (Martin) Rubink. Wayne lived at home until the age of 2, he then moved to the Brainerd State Hospital for 2 years. Wayne then went on to reside at the Jeanne Drange residence in St. Paul where he resided for 28 years. While here he attended a Therapy Learning Program that he graduated from. After St. Paul, he moved to Synstelien Homes for over 20 years before lastly moving to Lakes Homes in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Wayne was blessed the last year of his life, he was so happy and doing so well.

Wayne is survived by his parents, Herman and Marianne “Mary” Rubink of Underwood; sister, Mick (John) Ekberg of Fergus Falls, MN; brother, Troy (Tina) Rubink of Underwood, MN and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Celebration of Life: 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Zion-Sarpsborg Lutheran Church in Dalton, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Clergy: Pastor Mark Johnson

Interment: Zion Cemetery- Dalton, MN

Funeral arrangements are with the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Battle Lake.
