William Klimp, Jr

March 16, 1945 — July 17, 2016

William "Bill" Klimp, 71 of Fergus Falls died Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

William Edward Klimp Jr. was born on March 16, 1945, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the son of William Sr. and Blenda (Palm) Klimp. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Petri Lutheran Church of rural Brandon and attended the Evansville Public School.

Bill and Marlys Heald were married on June 25, 1966, in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashby. They lived in various locations in the area. He was a plumber/pipe fitter starting with Maloney Plumbing in Alexandria before he started working union jobs. Bill first helped plumb the Holiday Inn in Alexandria and then was on the Big Stone Power Plant, Becker Power Plant and also worked on the Iron Range. Billy and his son Brad, owned and operated Klimp's Kountry Korner where he enjoyed visiting with all the people and doing their repairs. He liked hunting, woodworking and remodeling homes. Billy was very kind and enjoyed his family, he was a good husband, dad and grandpa and really enjoyed attending his grandchildrens activities. He was a member of the Grue Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marlys; two daughters, Holly (Ryan) Albert of Fergus Falls and Heidi (Corey) Mekalson of Battle Lake; daughter-in-law, April Klimp of Fergus Falls; eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Levi, Mercede, Lexus, Gryphon, Logan, Riston, Spencer, Brodey, Jack and Max; two sisters, Carolyn (Gene) Binnebose and Bonnie Jaenisch both of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Phyllis (John) Torgrimson of Dalton; and by numerous relatives and friends. Billy was preceded in death by his son, Brad on March 29, 2013, and by his parents, William and Blenda Klimp.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Grue Lutheran Church of rural Ashby.

Visitation: 4 to 7 PM, Friday at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Ashby and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Clergy: Rev. Tom Olson

Interment: Pelican Lake Cemetery in Ashby.

Funeral Home: Glende-Nilson of Ashby.
