On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1946, she married Ralph Milton Holte at Vining Lutheran and the couple made their home in Battle Lake. Dorothy raised five children and was an active assistant to her husband in the churches they served. She loved to share her faith, especially with the young people in her churches and had a children's lesson every Sunday morning for several years.
