Delores Richter

Delores Richter, 95 of Evansville and formerly of St. Paul died Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the Alex Assisted Living in Alexandria.

Delores Maxine Richter was born on October 24, 1923, at home by Evansville, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Tena (Carlson) Nelson.  She attended the Evansville Public School graduating from the Evansville High School in 1940, as Valedictorian of her class.  Delores continued her education with Macalester College and Charles T. Miller Hospital in St. Paul graduating in 1945, with a Degree of Registered Laboratory and X-Ray Technician.  Delores worked in several medical doctor offices in St. Paul.

On March 22, 1947, Delores married Ted Richter and they made their home in St. Paul.  Ted and Delores worked together with their woodworking business, selling at craft shows mainly in the St. Paul-Minneapolis areas.  Ted passed away in December of 1994, and she moved to the Nelson homestead farm west of Evansville.  Delores joined the First Congregational Church of Christ in Alexandria, where she was active in Women’s Fellowship and Friendly Service groups sewing and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; parents, Arthur and Tena Nelson; two brothers, Winston and Dennis Nelson; by two sisters, Euna Nelson and Marilyn Crooks; and by two nieces, Lenore Nelson and Kylene Nelson.

Delores is survived by nephews and nieces, Bradley Nelson and his son, Cody of Williston, ND, Jody (Ron) Lanners of Ft. Collins, CO and their children, Tonya Lanners of Phoenix, AZ, and Bret (Christina) Lanners, Finnley and Vail of California, Kent Nelson of Evansville and his children, Kristina Nelson of Evansville and Kyle (Brook) Nelson of Brandon, Greg (Sue) Bliss of Burnsville and Sherry (Pat) Guthrie of California, Linda (Joe) Romonosky, Marsha (Leon) Schichter, and Ivan (Terry) Nelson, all of Connecticut and by numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Evansville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
