Dorothy Boese

Dorothy Boese, 90 of Fergus Falls died Friday, October 5, 2018, at the Pioneer Care Center in Fergus Falls.

Dorothy E.J. Boese was born on February 19, 1928, by Fergus Falls, Minnesota the daughter of William and Sophie (Quam) Boese.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran faith.  Dorothy attended rural school and then graduated from Pelican Rapids High School with honors in 1947.

After high school she was a caregiver for her parents.  In 1960, Dorothy moved into Fergus Falls and waitressed at the Normandy Café and the Viking Café for many years.  Her whole life consisted of caring for and serving people.  She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was involved in various volunteer activities.  Dorothy enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking, crocheting, playing cards and was a whist champion.  Hospitality was important, entertaining, serving lunch and she enjoyed people.

She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Olive Boese of Elk River, Ramona Kumm of Fergus Falls and Arlene Boese of St. Cloud; six nieces, Diane (Kenneth) Warner, Karen (Peter) Larson, Naomi (Joel) Boese-Kalata, Barbara (Jeff) Mastley, Brenda Boese and Bonnie Boese; one nephew, Dean (Tammy) Boese; and by several grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and cousins.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sophie Boese; and by four brothers, Erwin, Lyle, Wilbur and Elmer Boese.

Memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Cancer Society.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Fergus Falls with visitation one hour prior at the church.
